Yuval Saar has been deciphering the different aspects of the local visual and digital culture for a decade now. Saar, born and raised in Tel Aviv, is a professional graphic designer. In 2005 he established the online magazine Portfolio, he writes about design for Time Out Tel Aviv and alongside his writing Saar curates design exhibitions. Within his curation practice he has initiated the first Tel Aviv ‘Illustration Week’, performing as it’s chief curator. Saar also lectures in Bezalel’s Industrial Design and Policy & Theory of the Arts MA programs.
At Telavivian, Saar deconstructs and exposes the many different components of the local design scene, looking at museums, galleries, designers, creators, exhibitions and fairs. He covers the diverse aspects that the design world contains – like visual communication, illustration, industrial design, textiles, jewellery, ceramics, glass, interior design and more.
